Michael Jackson’s Son Spends Millions on Lavish Agoura Hills Estate

Nearly a decade ago, Prince Jackson bought his very first home—a $2.6 million Mediterranean-themed estate in the laid-back community of Rancho Palos Verdes, a seaside city due south of Los Angeles.

We’re not sure if Jackson, the eldest child of music icon Michael Jackson and one of three primary heirs to his billion-dollar estate, is simply seeking a change of scenery or if he’s motivated by other factors, including the recent and record-breaking $600 million sale of half his father’s music catalog to Sony, but we do know that the 28-year-old has seriously upgraded his real estate circumstances. Property records show he’s simultaneously sold his coastal starter house for $3.1 million to a non-famous married couple and bought a nearly $6.4 million estate in mountainous Agoura Hills, on L.A.’s far-flung northwestern outskirts.

Built on speculation just last year and initially offered with a $7.6 million asking price, Jackson negotiated a big discount on the modern farmhouse-style mansion, which packs eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms into 8,400 square feet of luxe living space, all of it awash with French oak hardwood floors, imported stone counters and designer light fixtures.

The rambling, multi-winged house has a notably unusual layout: an examination of the floorplan and listing information reveals that it’s actually two large homes in one. The lavish main structure, outfitted with five ensuite bedrooms and an office, sits beside a separate but connected smaller house with a separate entrance, three more ensuite bedrooms, a second kitchen and a second office. The two linked living spaces are perhaps most ideal for a multi-generational family or a live/work-from-home situation, though we have no knowledge of Jackson’s plans for the place.

In the main structure, the primary bedroom suite is located on the ground floor and features sliding glass doors leading to the tree-studded backyard, a bathroom with a Japanese-style soaking tub and a lavish closet “reminiscent of a high-end boutique,” per the listing. Also on the premises are a kitchen outfitted with top-of-the-line Thermador appliances and white oak cabinetry, a double-height living room and walls of glass that drink in the outside greenery and flood the place with natural light.

The secondary-but-connected house, which offers its own front door and double-height living room, isn’t quite as lavish as the main house but also flaunts a formal dining room, a kitchen outfitted with premium appliances, and an upstairs primary retreat with a walk-in closet and private balcony.

Though it spans some two flat acres, the backyard is visually dominated by a majestic oak tree that is a full 100 years old, per the listing. Besides the expected pool/spa combo, there are also wide swathes of grassy lawn, meandering pathways and “room for horses,” per the listing. And given its location in the Santa Monica Mountains, the property is just an easy jog from numerous hiking trails, horse paths and other outdoorsy adventures.

Jackson’s new Agoura Hills retreat also lies just minutes from two notable Calabasas mansions, one owned by his grandmother Katherine Jackson and the other by his little brother, Bigi. His sister, actress Paris Jackson, owns a $4 million Hollywood Hills compound.
