Though it was never on the market, Jennifer Lawrence has quietly sold her longtime Los Angeles home for $11 million. And records reveal the buyer of the already very celebrified estate is another celebrity: Cara Delevingne, the jet-setting English model/actress/socialite.
It’s probably no surprise Lawrence has opted to dump her West Coast outpost; now married to a New York-based gallerist, with whom she has two children, the “Hunger Games” star has lived primarily in Manhattan for years. And there’s also little shock Delevingne would be seeking a new L.A. home—the gossip-column regular’s Studio City mansion infamously burned to the ground last year.

Located in a guarded enclave notoriously popular with the Hollywood crowd, the charming French-influenced traditional was built in 1991 and has seen its fair share of famous faces. From 2005-2013, the property was owned and occupied by Jessica Simpson, and in the ‘90s it was reportedly the home of actress Jami Gertz. Lawrence bought the house in late 2014, paying $8.2 million, though she’s always maintained a more expensive primary residence in New York.

The home’s most appealing feature is likely the abundant privacy, though it remains close to numerous L.A. haunts: the 0.3-acre property is tucked in the mountains above Beverly Hills, in the thick vegetation between Coldwater and Franklin canyons. In addition to the guarded entrance, the place is screened behind a big driveway gate and a forest-like canopy of trees.
Because it was never on the market—and hasn’t been on the market for over a decade, ever since Lawrence’s purchase—current details and photos are scant. But we do know that the 5,500-square-foot structure offers a stylish living room and dining room behind its vine-encrusted walls. There’s also a roomy kitchen with Carrara marble counters, premium appliances, and a cozy breakfast area.

While tax records say the house has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms, at the time of Lawrence’s purchase it was configured with only three: the single downstairs bedroom was a sitting room, and one of the four upstairs suites functioned as a swanky glam room, complete with a salon-style vanity. For its part, the primary bedroom comes complete with a private balcony, a walk-in closet, and a bathroom with dual sinks and a soaking tub.

The backyard is lovely, provided you can deal with a swimming pool that’s in the shade for almost the whole day. Towering bamboo shoots and ancient trees envelope the grassy lawn and various patios, providing a breezy respite from the unforgiving SoCal sun.
Delvingne, 33, is the daughter of a wealthy London-based property developer. In addition to her new 90210 spread, she’s also got an $11 million triplex condo in N.Y.C.’s Gramercy Park area, purchased from Jimmy Fallon three years ago. Lawrence, 35, bunks up at her $22 million condo in the Big Apple’s West Village neighborhood.
