Reformation’s Founder Drops $24 Million on Striking Marmol Radziner-Designed Mansion

It’s only fitting that Reformation founder Yael Aflalo, a woman with her finger so firmly on the pulse of contemporary fashion, would choose a highly stylish and on-trend L.A. mansion for her home. Located in an prime pocket of the Beverly Hills Flats neighborhood, the visually arresting structure is perched on a spacious corner lot, seemingly flaunting its haute couture duds to all peasants daring to pass.

But Aflalo also knows the art of the deal, and so she craftily negotiated the price of the swank estate down to $24.5 million in cash. That’s almost 20% off the original $30 million ask.

The house was built in 2017 by entertainment industry businesswoman Stacey Snider, the former Chairman and CEO of 20th Century Fox. Snider and her husband Gary Jones acquired the half-acre property in 2014 for $8 million; they subsequently razed the existing, dated home on the site and spent another small fortune building a 10,200-square-foot contemporary confection of metal, stone and glass.

Acclaimed architecture firm Marmol Radziner sculpted the house itself, while celebrity-favored design team Clements Design handled the interiors. The result is a state-of-the-art, vaguely sci-fi-inspired compound that’s at once both hard-edged and soft—imposing and status-assuring when you want it to be, warm and comforting when you need it to be.

Highlights include a mix of white oak and terrazzo floors, all of which are radiant heated for year-round toasty toes. Floor-to-ceiling Fleetwood doors of glass flood the spaces with natural light, and there are not one but two kitchens: a showpiece “display” kitchen for entertaining and a separate catering kitchen for the smelly prep work, naturally.

Upstairs, the primary suite is tucked away in its own wing and outfitted with dual baths, dual closets, and a sitting area with a private balcony. There are two additional bedroom suites upstairs, plus a guest retreat and a pro-grade Dolby Atmos home theater on a lower level.

Out back, the grassy backyard joins a 40-foot swimming pool, ideal for quintessential SoCal outdoor bliss. At the far rear of the lot lies a tricked-out guesthouse, which is really more akin to a standalone wellness center. It sports a private gym, massage room, living room and direct access to an alleyway-facing garage.

Born to a wealthy Beverly Hills-based family, Aflalo spent over a decade attempting to get a fashion label off the ground. She finally struck gold in 2009, when she founded sustainability-focused clothing brand Reformation, which became an Instagram-favored sensation, and the rest is design history.

By 2019, Reformation was generating $150 million in annual revenue; that same year, Aflalo sold a majority stake in the business for an undisclosed sum. Since then, she’s pivoted to becoming more of an angel investor, though she still dabbles in fashion design—her new clothing line YAEL launched just months ago.

And though she’s clearly returned to the West Coast in a big way with this 90210 home buy, Aflalo and her partner Ludvig Frossen remain based in New York City. Back in 2020, Aflalo spent a whopping $31.5 million to buy a huge West Village townhouse from Melissa Schiff, the ex-wife of George Soros’ son Robert. The 6,600-square-foot mansion has since been renovated, and it now features a backyard swimming pool—a true rarity in the Big Apple. Records confirm Aflalo remains owner of the decidedly A-list-worthy property.
